Privacy Policy - Sound Meter

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Sound Meter - Decibel dB ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Handle

Microphone: With your permission, the App processes microphone audio on your device to estimate sound levels. It does not save audio recordings or upload microphone audio to our servers.

Advertising: Google AdMob processes technical information separately from microphone audio, as described in Section 5.

3. How We Use Information

Microphone readings power the current level, session statistics, and recent-history graph on your device. Microphone audio is not sent as advertising data. The App does not require an account to measure sound.

4. Local Storage and Your Choices

Recent measurement values and session statistics are held in memory for the current session; the App does not create an audio recording. The App saves local flags and timestamps used to limit advertising frequency. You can stop a measurement, reset its statistics, or revoke microphone permission in device settings.

5. Third-Party Services (Advertising)

The App uses Google AdMob. Google may process IP addresses, device or app identifiers, ad and app interactions, and diagnostics to deliver, measure, and protect advertising.

Available identifiers and advertising features depend on the platform, permissions, device settings, and advertising configuration. On iOS, this version does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. That alone does not mean that advertising collects no data or is always non-personalized.

In app version 1.1.0, advertising choices are requested through Google's consent service when it requires a message. When privacy options are available, you can reopen them from the privacy icon on the measurement screen. You can still use the App when advertising is unavailable.

6. Children's Privacy
